The Mount Tai Scenic Area in Shandong province's Tai'an city is scheduled to resume operations starting at 8:00 am on March 21, according to the local management committee.
Mount Tai will open three routes for tourists, including the Red Gate tour route, the Tianwaicun tour route and the Peach Blossom Valley tour route. Those who want to visit Mount Tai on foot can choose Red Gate and Peach Blossom Valley.
All of the three checkpoints have installed a temperature measurement and analysis system using artificial intelligence and infrared thermal imaging.
As part of epidemic prevention and control efforts, visitors are required to show a "green pass" (a green QR code which allows its holders to travel across Tai'an without worrying about coronavirus-related traffic restrictions), have their temperature taken at the entrance, and wear a mask at all times.
To ensure the safety of visitors, the number of people allowed to enter the scenic area at any given time will be limited to less than 20,000 visitors.
Visitors must book tickets online using their real names. They will be asked to show their QR code when booking and to present their ID before entering. Chinese medical workers are allowed to visit for free for one year after reopening.
Tai'an closed all its tourist attractions on Jan 25 due to the novel coronavirus outbreak
